Recommend a guitar for this budget!

Hi all, I'm looking for an electro acoustic. Something I can plug in, that's versatile but sounds nice ... Not really hard to play, or absolutely massive. Preferably with a half cut away neck exposing top frets. SOMETHING THAT STAYS IN TUNE! (I can NEVER buy a guitar that's setup right!)

I have a really cheap £35 acoustic I bought when I started playing, and it's been a great friend to me, but I just can't really gig with it.

I have no idea when it comes to acoustics. Any recommendations for a guitar fitting the budget of say £200-300 would be awesome!

Kind regards
Frazer

PRS SE.

Not the most exciting but if you get a hardtail you have the quality down. Tuning and setup is pretty simple on there (good tuners, two-screw bridge).

The OP is looking for an electro acoustic, not a solid body.

Oh I thought he had one and wanted a solid.

Well get a PRS SE and a really sensitive mic.

A Seagull!! I played one.. It was A-MAY-ZING!! And only $300. I think it was ALL maple.
But I played another one at GC that hadn't been properly maintained and it was just "ok".

For about $400. you can get a decent acoustic. Take a look at the lower end martins. Take a look at some of the Chinese Guilds. They are well made, stay in tune well & are available with good electronics.

I have several Takamines. I always felt they provide really good guitars for little money.

That would be my two main targets, either a Takamine, or something make by Godin. That includes Seagull, Simon Patrick, Norman and Art & Lutherie. You can't go wrong.

Alvarez makes some decent guitars for the money also. Most of them have very slim necks too. I love Taylors but that's probably out of your budget. But I would check out Alvarez, Takamine, Seagull, Yamaha, Washburn, Epiphone Masterbilt, some of the Ibanez models, Blueridge, and Recording King. All of those are good guitars for the money.

Re: Recommend a guitar for this budget!

+1 to Alvarez. I've had an Alvarez for a few years. It has been a Great guitar. I've played several gigs with it. Mine is an AF60CK model. It has a slimmer body and single cutaway.
It doesn't quite have the depth and projection of it's larger counterparts though.

When I go to upgrade Alvarez will be first on my list. There is better out there but mine has impressed me a lot. Especially for a lower tier model
