Recommend Me a Reverb VST

I'm looking for a new reverb VST to replace the one I've been using because of compatibility issues. I'd like something with lots of presets and a simple interface.

I have to be able to set the parameters numerically so I can duplicate settings across multiple tracks/projects. Some of these VSTs just have "knobs" with no precise measurements...I can't stand that.

Any suggestions? What are you recording guys currently using?

Re: Recommend Me a Reverb VST

Waves True verb and Renaissance Reverb are both good. I'm sure there are better ones out there...

I just save the setting in Logic with my own name.

I don't know how much you're looking to spend but the UAD card/plugins are fantastic. http://www.zzounds.com/item--UAD2SOLO

Also, you can set your reverb up globally on a bus that will save cpu power and give you the same reverb(s) for your entire mix. I usually set up a vocal plate and a room or a hall as two separate reverbs on buses.

I've been addicted to Signaldust's reverb VSTs lately.
Abstract Chamber sounds exactly like what you're looking for. Not to mention free.
Also, Togu Audio Line has excellent free reverb VSTs that are simple and lush. I use those a lot as well.

See if you can find a demo of Waves TrueVerb, it is a sweet sounding reverb unit.
Any of waves effects are awesome.

I tried these tonight (they're free, which is a big plus).

I like the sound of the Abstract Chamber a lot. It's just what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, I added it to a bunch of tracks in a project, and now the playback is glitchy. Could this be from the reverb? Any way around this?

Did you try putting your reverbs on a bus so you can use them globally?

For what it's worth, I'm not a big fan of reverb. I prefer a slap back echo. To my ears, it's a bit cleaner and it doesn't muddy up the original signal quite as much.

I have to agree use it sparingly. Have you listened to "Get On Your Boots" by U2? It has zero reverb says the mix engineer. Big ballads though you have to use it. I use to put a little on everything but now I pick my spots more carefully and it has really helped my mixes.

Re: Recommend Me a Reverb VST

Not cheap, but I use RealVerb Pro from Universal Audio; it's a plug-in that comes included with the UAD cards. The 'verb is very natural sounding and the interface is great.

It has a graphic interface which you can use to simulate any space, really. It also takes your audio and upconverts it before processing so there is (theoretically) no loss. The card takes the brunt off of your CPU in terms of processing, too.

Here's a song w/ a very sparse arrangement I just mixed -- I used a general room verb for all of the instruments and vox and a couple of add'l verbs for the drums and vox alone ... http://soundcloud.com/bena/the-road-24-dec-11-mix-f

Re: Recommend Me a Reverb VST

I use the ones in logic express, but sometimes convolution reverbs.

in windows, I used convolution reverbs (sir) and the classic reverb (I loved all those "classic" series of VSTs, I used them all the time - simple and effective).

Those kjaerhus classic effects are my favorites. I never realized how extensively I used them till I switched to mac and can't use them anymore. Still haven't found a decent substitute.

Re: Recommend Me a Reverb VST

I use Sony Oxford Reverb I like that alot sounds pretty natural for a algorithm reverb. There are some cool convolution reverbs like Sir that are cheap if you can get hold of good impulses but dont have a lot of settings (as they really on the impulses)
