Recommend tubes for my DSL 201 combo.

Hey guys
Just picked up a well used but in good working condition 201.
Wanna retube it, as I want to use it regularily for small gigs and practice.
Put a UK made V30 and this amp sounds fantastic.
I keep the gain very low about 9 oclock and crank the master, perfect for my classic rock band. The clean with it's separate EQ is amazing as well!
This amp is very loud and powerful!!!

Anyway keep in mind the style I play, classic rock and blues.
Advice on power and pre amp tubes!

I'm sure JJ will come up as the standard recommendation for the el84s. They can take abuse and sound decent when cranked. I hear you can try the "mullard" ones if you like a thicker midrange than JJ, but I've not used those.

As for the 12AX7s, stay away from long plate tubes (no sovtek LPS or JJ ECC803), as long plates generally go microphonic quicker in combo amps

go with JJ if you want a slightly darker sound
go with Electro Harmonix if you want a bright sound with a lil less bass and some sizzle
go with tungsol if you want a bright sound with a lil more bass than EH

that's how I usually look at things.

I have a DSL50 and I use a Japanese tube in V1, but the rest are EH and JJ. I like EH but some people here hate em.

Don't fix what is already great and stop tweakin and play it.

lol got ya!!!
Retube the whole thing may be alittle too much. I will start with the power tubes as they look original only for relieability sake. Pre amp tubes can stay until they die! Hows that?!
