Hey all,
I recently bought a cheap Soundgear by Ibanez SR 305 DX 5 string bass to record some tracks in Cubase SX through an Edirol UA-5. It sounds ok with some compression, but a preamp would do alot to improve the sound. I was looking at the Presonus Tubepre and Art Studio V3 1-tube preamps, which could both be good bets for the money; but then again, I though that I might want a real bass amp which has a preamp out that I could route to my Marshall SE100 Speaker Emulator (I mostly play guitar), and then to the UA-5 through its balanced XLR out. The SWR LA10 35W combo has a pre-out but it is solid-state...but it's a real bass amp. Confusing isn't it?!? :laugh2:
So I would just like to gather opinions on which choice I should make...
