I have 2 pretty decent mics (shure sm57 and another one forget the name) into a Yamaha MG mixer straight into the stock mic input on my comp. When I record, I get this dry, clippy sound. It doesn't do its justice at all. It's also very annoyingly sensitive and hard to record. If you play soft its way too quiet and if you hit chords it farts out. There is also quite a bit of noise.
I'm really considering getting one of those interfaces. I'm hoping it will be night and day. How would you compare my current setup to replacing the mixer with the interface?
