Recording

I'm looking for a way to record myself digitally, for awhile now i've had this multi-track recorder but it only records onto cassett-tape... not much good when you want to send ure playing to your mates etc. Whats the best option on the market for recording onto a PC? I've looked around abit but all I can really find in my price-range is the Line 6 Guitar Port and the original Line 6 POD... Are these my only real options?

Guitar Shop Pro, Nuendo, and Sonar are al great programs to start with.
I use Sonar 3.0 Producer here at home, and I love it!

I've heard really good things about Pro Tools Free. 8 tracks, lotta features....and it's free. Search on Google, you'll find the free download out there.
