Whats it like? can it get the brutal tone rectifiers are known for? Any major diffs between this and a dual rectifier besides this being a preamp only?

Im looking into other amp routes and this looks interesting. How is it live with a good poweramp?

What poweramps would you suggest?

thanks!

The only time I've ever used one was through a Mesa Boogie 50/50 power amp. With that it sounds amazing. I've heard it with and a QSC PLX3602 You can get the brutal tones with it but i recommend a tube power amp just to be able to get that extra dirt out of it.

With the 50 or 100w recto poweramps, they sound killer. I'd get a 2:90, though - that's my favorite poweramp that they make.

The Recto pre sounds like ass for direct recording, though - beware!

Instead of a preamp and poweramp, why not just get a Rectifier head?

+1

I would think this would be a much cheaper option.

Plus, I'm gonna have one for sale really soon. :spam:

Its a Triple rec - hear me out here - with 6V6 tubes. So not only does it sound incredibly sweet, but its wattage has been cut in half. :D
