Regular JB vs underwound JB

I came across a comparison video of a JB and an underwound (lower gain?) JB. The lower output one sounds amazing and maybe 90% there to the JB tone. I can see this being used in a bass heavy guitar. I think it has a good amount of potential.

Oh, that guy has a bunch of interesting videos regarding the JB. He has a comparison of the JB with the JB8, the JB with the JB+, and the Antiquity JB compared to the real deal vintage JB.

On topic, I don't think a 9K pickup is so much an "underwound JB", but different wind altogether meant to resemble the JB, just in a lower output package. They do capture the JB vibe, though, so there's that. I wonder what magnet they chose for that 9K pickup.

But when I read the title "underwound JB", my brain immediately thought, "maybe someone made a 15K-ish 44AWG pickup that has less of a focused midrange."

A 9k humbucker is PAF territory. Cross reference "78" or "Brobucker"
