Removed cover… no tape?

I just removed the cover from an sh-16. I am thinking of putting it in the bridge of my se24.

removal: pretty easy. Razor blade against the small bead of solder and a gentle tapping with a small hammer. Broke it pretty easily. Pushed a flathead against the edge of the cover just to bow it out a tad so I knew it wasn’t pressing against the baseplate. Held it in my hand to generate some safe heat to loosen the wax hold just enough. Then the cover slipped off little by little. Easily enough, but it was a good tight fit.

so I see a good wax surround, but not a crazy ton. Actually hardly any at all on the face of the bobbins (which I was relieved to see were both black). However, it’s an opaque hue, and I can see copper-not that clothy black tape all my factory uncovered pickups have. EDIT: about half is taped, but the other half isn’t taped, or it was remover before the cover was applied.
So I’m not taking the wax off yet to keep them protected.

so my question is: how do I wrap/tape them to protect the coils now? Can I use electrical tape, or should I go online and get special pickup tape from stew Mac or somewhere similar? Any experience or help is appreciated.
(sorry I can’t post any pics. Every previous effort to post pics on my part has been a failure)
