Removing tone knob from DK2M

Hey guys, I have a Jackson DK2M with JB/Jazz PUs. I would like to remove the tone knob and put in an on/off mini toggle. Would that make the JB too bright on this guitar? I am going to have it done at my local shop, but I don't want to screw up the sound. I am also playing through a Marshall JVM head if that helps. Thanks.

Re: Removing tone knob from DK2M

Removing the tone knob will sound almost the same as leaving the tone knob on 10. Is that too bright for you?

I say "almost" because it's actually slightly brighter, since you've removed the resistance of having a pot in the circuit.

Re: Removing tone knob from DK2M

It will be brighter and more lively. It is the only way I like to wire JBs.

Remember, Charvels are wired like this, stock.

I hope it's brighter as in better sounding. I guess there is a reason they do Charvels like that. Thanks for the help, guys.
