Adieu

Just saw this go up for sale locally. Seller says LP Studio, don't know the year yet.

Does this look worthwhile?

What’s it look like from the front?

Clean.

Probably a good deal, guy texted back saying he already has a bite en route, but will let me have it if that guy flakes or haggles... i figured flip the case, end up with a modding platform for $200ish.... or clean up and retouch the break and flip it on

Alas too late probably

If the break has damaged the faceplate, I'd pass. If it is okay, then sure, maybe...

Bill

The proof of the puddin' is in the eatin'. Go play it. If it feels and sounds great, buy it. If it doesn't "speak" to you, pass. Screw flipping the case. At that price, just keep it. The guitar needs a good home for storage and transport, after all.

I think it is certainly worth playing.

Take a breath
Think about it
If some someone else had made this same post

What would be your advise?

Judging from past comments, I know what he'd say.

I'd pop for it, and immediately have a competent luthier eyeball it. If it's toast, part it out and make money off it. If it's good to go, play the heck out of your very good deal.

I feel bad for the guy having to part with it for that price. One apparent mishap. Hits me in the gut.

I know a $300 LP sounds too good to be true, but it kinda depends on what kind of LP Studio it is, you can pick up used the Studio Faded versions for $600 - $700, I know I've seen them new on sale for $799. Not sure what it costs for a headstock repair, but if it is more than $300, I would definitely do some research.

Saw that on another forum. Dude said he paid $150 lol!

I was pointing out that the LP with the broken headstock may not be worth it, not suggesting anyone buy it.
