replace tone with control?

if you had two tones adn one volume, could u replace one of the tone so that there will be two volume controls for each pickup and one master tone?

Keep in mind that this is the wiring technique where the two volumes interact with each other. As long as you only have one p'up selected, it has its own volume control. As soon as you select both, either volume control will control both p'ups. In other words, turning one down all the way, will kill both.
