I like the Bad Cat Mini Cat combo, but I think it might be better with a different speaker. It ships with some Jensen 10" special design. I think it's the same one Fender uses some of their re-issues. I find it to be bright, and it seems to whine or cry after about half volume on certain notes. Do I need to crank the F out of this amp for a few hours to break in the speaker or is it just a POS speaker?
This is only a 5 watt amp but it's pretty loud. It has an EL84 and 12ax7, not sure what brand tubes. I'm thinking to trying some JJ's from Bob at Eurotube.
One guy suggested a Celestion G10. Any thoughts.
