Re: Replacement tuners for Gibson Marauder?
Any of the vintage style machines should line up, screw hole wise and either be a drop in or easily adaptable to drop in. And, there are locking versions available. There is a caveat to the "drop-in" thing. Some of the vintage style machines have the smaller post diameter (1/4" I believe) and use a press in bushing. Those are meant to drop into the smaller peghead holes of the older/vintage guitars. Others have the larger post with threaded sleeve for more modern guitars with 10mm peg holes. Those secure with a threaded bushing. They do, however, make adapter bushings to fit the vintage style machines with the smaller posts into the modern 10mm peg holes. I cant think of a vintage style locking machine that has metal buttons but Kluson has the Revolutions series with a plastic button with a screw so those could possibly be changed to a metal button. I know there are metal button machines that aren't locking.
Basically, you have plenty of options from drop in's, or adaptable to drop in's. The metal button option may be a sticking point if you have to have lockers.
