Replacing 707s with passive SD humbuckers

I am trying to replace EMG 707s with a set of passive SD humbuckers and I've run into a little trouble. For starters, I haven't been able to find a diagram for my setup. I want to use a single push-pull volume pot to coil tap both pickups at once. The guitar has only the one volume pot and a 3-way toggle; no tone control. I've found similar diagrams on the SD site, but not this particular one. Unfortunately it seems something isn't quite right, and it would be great to have something to directly reference. Does anyone happen to have a schematic for this type of setup, or could someone scribble one down for me?

Also, it seems this guitar's bridge is not grounded. Apparently the 707s don't require it, because there doesn't seem to be a ground wire anywhere in the control cavity. Any suggestions as to how I might add one?

Thanks in advance!

What type of bridge does it have? Lots of ground wires are very simple. On my kahler flat mounts its literally just a wire smashed between the body of the guitar and the back of the bridge. Most floyds its soldered to the trem claw. Tune o matic setups usually have a wire that goes into the bridge post hole and is just twisted around it. Your bigger issue might be if you have to drill a hole for the wire it its missing but even that isnt a huge deal if your half way handy and have some basic tools.

On the diagram ive always just used the one for 2 hums 1 volume and a 3 way then substituted the diagram for a push pull into it. But I'm sure theres someone here who can draw it out for you.

Thanks for the info Edgecrusher. The guitar has a TonePros TOM-style bridge. Sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to work out the grounding from your info. Is it really as easy as just taking the bridge post out, drilling a hole for the wire, and then twisting it in there? I was expecting something more... professional... complicated... permanent...

Also, a schematic for exactly my setup is now listed in the support section on the SD web site. I could swear it wasn't there a few days ago...

Yeah the worst case scenario for you would be you would have to drill a hole from the control cavity to the hole for the bridge post and run a wire to it. Does it have a stop tail piece or do the strings go through the body? In reality even 5k dollar brand new r9 Les pauls come with just a wire thats been smashed between the bushing for the tail piece and the body.

Glad you found the schematic :D

It's strung-through, so I will probably have to ground off one of the bridge posts.
