Replacing a Floyd with Wrap Around?

Re: Replacing a Floyd with Wrap Around?

The positioning of the pivot posts relative to the saddle break off points on a Floyd Rose is not the same as the positioning of the posts on an adjustable wrapover bridge relative to its saddles. Additionally, there is the small matter of the studs of a wrapover bridge needing to be set with an intonation compensation slant.

This Kelly was originally equipped with a Floyd. With a little bit of hand chisel work I fitted it with an old Kahler I had lying around. It wouldn't be that hard to do the same thing only with a Kahler flatmount hardtail bridge.

And you'd have to route out a pocket for the correct bridge height.

IMO, it would be easily doable plugging the holes and re-drilling the posts in the correct location and then routing for the correct bridge height.

But a direct replacement. No.

Intonation and neck pocket angle are the issues with an existing body. You would better off buying a Warmoth body already routed for the Schaller.
