Replacing Guitar Saddles with Shorter Brass Ones: Potential Issues?

I didn't realize it would be shorter, but the width seems to be right. Should I return them, or do you think they will be okay? Thanks.

should be fine as long as you have clearance to intonate and theres not any binding issues as the string comes through the plate

Honestly, I see a lot of old 50's telecasters have brass saddles so since I'm swapping the pups with antiquities I figured I'd try it and see how it sounds

Some people dig the 50s Tele sound, some don't, so I was wondering if there was something specific in the sound you didn't like.

oh, I played a no caster at a vintage guitar store and loved it. I could never afford that but what I could do is change some hardware to get as close as possible so that's what I'm doing.

I do like the original sound of the MIM Telecaster but I wanted to try to chase that 50's sound.

Oh cool...yes, brass seems to be one of the key ingredients to that, as well as having 1 saddle for each pair of strings.
