Hey I got a Fender Texas Special which comes with the SRV pickups from his signature guitar...I like the sound...but i want something even hotter and possibly more noiseless. After checking out a bunch of Seymour Duncan pickups I've found I like the Hot Rails the best because of their fat humbucker tone...but yet I still want to produce an extremely CLEAN sound when I need to. I've got a vintage Blues Deville 4X10 amplifier and I just renewed the tubes so I'm really looking for a versatile sound right now. Thanks a lot if anyone can help.

hey thanks a lot for responding...I was curious how the combination of pickups would affect the sound...would it sound different played at different spots? I guess the sound I really wanna get out of my strat body is something like PRS with that real hot but clean sound...should I look into just getting all three hot-rails? thanks again

3 hot rails will not get you a very nice clean sound.
the cool rails is kinda a vintage bucker type tone, warmer and bigger with more output than a strat pup. the vintage rails will give you a more traditional stratty tone and is the notch positions will get some tones kinda similar to the 2 & 4 positions on a prs and the bridge will give you a thicker hotter tone from the hot rails

So thanks jeremy I guess to achieve super versatility I'll need the three different pickups...What is your decision-making process in putting the hot rail on the bridge, the vintage in the middle, and the cool rail on the neck? I'm definitely a newbee when it comes to cuztomizing my guitars so I don't know a lot of this stuff. Also, do you think the tone listening page on this website is a pretty acurate display of each pick up? I wish they could do the combo thing you're talking about as one of the examples....thanx again
