replacing my tremolo with floyd type

im thinking of raplacing the tremolo of my guitar, a suzuki chinese made fat strat copy, im thinking of fitting it with a licensed floyd type. I want to know the pros and cons before doing it.

you could use these^^ .. a graphite nut (or sim.) and locking tuners (sperzel etc.)... works really well if it's set up properly.

Not a lot of pros other than you'll have a floyd on a guitar you're familiar with.

Here are some of the cons:
  1. You'll spend more on the mod than the guitar is worth
  2. After you're done, it won't be worth much more than when you started
  3. All the usual Floyd issues (tone, string changes, etc.)
I put a Floyd on a PRS copy and the mod cost me $350-400 including the bridge. I ended up selling the guitar for $350. If you really want a guitar with a Floyd, you'll probably spend less money on a new guitar than upgrading the one you have.

The best way to do it is by getting another guitar that already has one.
