I am posting this again as I wrote the date of the party as 1/19 even though I specified Tuesday, the correct day. The day of the party is today, Tuesday, January 20th.
I will be at the 65 Amps shop all day prior to the party. If there is anybody that wants to drop by the shop in the morning and bring their tubes over here I will be happy to test them and show you how I do this at no charge just for the fun of it. My tube test gear is at the 65 Amps shop and that includes a vacuum tube curve tracer.
I do not sell tubes so if something is not up to spec there is nothing I can do about that but at least you will know what the real state of your tubes are.
From the original post:
For folks in the So Cal area, today in the early afternoon until late in the evening there will be one of the parties that 65 Amps throws on regular basis (read ... any excuse for a party).
The amps that went to NAMM ( very poor video done by me at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0X-I6wHzkE ) are all back from NAMM so you can play with most everything in the 65 Amps lineup.
The parties are pretty informal and there is always food and drink.
Bogner is just two doors away from the 65 Amps shop and they are always at the party and in fact Brian from Bogner is somewhat the official drummer most of the time. If you want to check out Bogner's stuff it is about a 150 foot walk.
There is a Vox Continental organ and a Hammond B2 also so if you are a keyboard player you are covered
If you want to come by by yourself or with friends just give Sam a call over at the 65 Amps shop and let him know or email him at sam@65amps.com
As far as Lil' Elvis .... there are at least two combos and maybe four heads that will be available to play with along with the Monterey, Stone Pony, the rest of the 65 Amps line and a lot of vintage gear too.
