How do they compare on voicing?

And how do both neck and bridge Retribution compare in output to the BO 8-string neck model?

Are the retributions even out other than in Dinos sig model? I doubt anyone here has tried them yet... Especially in an 8 string model. As much as I hate to try over at 7string.org they have many more players who use the active stuff and extended range stuff.

If anything guys here will tell you about 6 string black outs and have no clue about 8 string stuff

Versus the Blackouts they have more headroom, less output (but still plenty) and a little more definition. The EMTY has more of a top end cut. Eventually we hope to get you some comparison clips for these.

How does the Retribution bridge output compare to an EMG 81? Not talking about headroom, just output volume. For example, the 81 makes my compressor pedal distort a bit. Would switching to the Retribution decrease the distortion?

Somewhat of a necro-bump on this, but has there been any progress on the clips between the AHB-1's, AHB-3's, and the Retribution yet???

I wanted a set of the new 81-7H EMG's, but the finish looks like it will easily scratch off like I was afraid of. The AHB-1'S are way too damn hot for my liking, and I have yet to find a passive I really like or want to try in any of my 7's. I have given up on trying to get anything from the Custom Shop anymore, since nobody can follow up on emails to get me pricing or confirm options. Fishman can't get back to me on whether or not the new Fluence 7-string passive sized models are available or can come in a standard black plastic housing.

So these Retributions are my most likely candidate for a guitar I am looking to finish. Really would like to see and hear something good as far as the comparison... but am almost sold on them just because they are not as hot as any of the other Blackouts.
