Hey guys thing about putting 6L6 tubes in my Marshall JTM45. Has anyone else done this? I know the JTM45 is basiclly a Fender Bassman so I was thinking about giving it a try. I really like the way my amp sounds, it has a nice bite to it, but I would like to have more headroom. Whatta think?

According to Marshall's Website, the JTM45 comes from the factory with 5881 tubes, which are in the 6L6 family.

Unless someone in the amp's past put in something different, I'm fairly certain that only a re-bias would be necessary to make the switch.
