Reverb units

So I bought the Hall of Fame pedal and am disappointed. Firstly, the switch feels loose and cheap and the verbs just dont sound so great. I guess I got sucked into the hype.

My last reverb was from the 90s. An old Alesis and I was thinking this one would have been like it. :(
I should have known when I saw some of the artists own boards dont use the HOF. Feeling stupid.

Re: Reverb units

The 90's Alesis Quadraverb I have, never heard a reverb pedal even come close to how good that thing sounds.

Dude, sorry to hear that. I've never used a HOF before but I've used a Line6 Verbzilla in the past. It's not as good as some rack units I'm sure but on my BF Bandmaster or Dual Rec it gets the job done. Maybe you can return the HOF and get something more to your liking?

I own both of those units (Hall of Fame and Verbzilla) and I think they both sound really good. I'm surprised the OP is so disappointed. I usually play through my Deluxe Reverb or Princeton Reverb and use the reverb that's built into those amps, but when I play through my old tweed amps the Verbzilla sounds good to me...although these days I'm more likely to use the Hall of Fame or EH Memory Man. Usually, the Memory Man.

Re: Reverb units

I also love my HOF, but I guess it all depends on what you want out of a reverb anyway...

Re: Reverb units

I just bought a supernatural reverb. I couldn't resist...

whats your thoughts? And what other units did you have before?

Well, I played it momentarily at a friends place, and loved the big washy noises I could get from it. I own a Fender HRDlx with nice reverb, a big box Holy Grail, a Behringer reverb machine, and multiple delays. I love ambient noises.

someone on youtube was nice enough to do a side by side comparison of the supernatural vs hardwire rv7. Seems the supernatural has much longer verbs and whatnot, but both are obviously good buys

That's exactly what I was looking for, too. Long reverbs are really fun

Re: Reverb units

Eventide Space. Costs a pretty penny, but the rooms and halls sound very natural.
For a spring reverb, I'd check out the Subdecay Spring Theory though. Has some mighty fine sounding hall to.

Re: Reverb units

Strymon? The Blue & Big Sky videos I've seen are very impressive. I've not tried either yet, but I'm hoping to rectify that soon.

Re: Reverb units

I have a HoF and a Neunaber Wet, HoF is good enough but the Wet is awesome.
