reverse polarity on tele neck?

I've seen that there is a way to alter a tele bridge pup to reverse the polarity, but I just got a JD(which is unbelievably cool!) for my MIM, and it is out of phase from the stock neck. I'd rather not mess with the JD- is there a way to reverse the neck pup? Thanks y'all.

Re: reverse polarity on tele neck?

you could try swapping the wiring on the neck pickup (hot to ground and vice versa) but then you run the risk of being out of phase magnetically. your best bet is to just replace the neck with a duncan.

or just go esquire on that puppy and eliminate the neck pickup :D

Thanks man! I'm gonna get a SD eventually, when I can scrape up the cash- either a 5-2 or a '54. I tried the esquire wiring, but I missed the neck tones. I use my tele for jazz a lot and the neck sounds great for that. I actually don't mind the MIM tele neck pup.

Re: reverse polarity on tele neck?

If the two pickups are out of phase, just reverse the leads of one of the pickups (hot to ground, ground to hot) and all will be well. The middle position may or may not be hum cancelling (depends on if both pu's are same polarity). But if not, the other two positions aren't either, so big woop.
