Finally got a rough mix going of a new tune. This track features my 72 Carslbro TR60 exclusively. Has a lot of Plexi flavor but it is creamier. I absolutely love the thing!! The track is intentionally very sparse, I got so hooked into the riffs that I didn't want to clutter them up with a bunch of crap. The track is very Trower flavored, esp with the neck pickup going all over the place. It is a Tokai Tele and a Fender Delta Tone in the neck. The leads are played with my Trusty A2 59 62 RI Strat combo. Got some Line 6 mod box going as well. I boosted the leads a bit with the Duncan PU Booster, thing sounds great!! Enjoy :dance: Getting to the end of this album, maybe by mid summer. This tune is also the name of the album.

Sounds great Kev. I dug the groove and great playing on everyone's part. I was starting to get disappointed though because I wanted to hear that EVH styled phaser on the leads, but you didn't disappoint me and it smacked me in the face at the 2:50 mark.:)

That's what I'm talking about! Great tones man. Some parts reminded me of Joe Perry, which seems a little different than the other stuff I have heard from you.
Nice funky stuff.. all good.

Cool tune, definitely a Trower/Marino feel to it. Great playing Kev! So many guys here that can do serious damage.

Thanks Jolly, man I actualy had to force myself to not use the phase on an upcoming tune. I am addicted to that thing. I need a help group.

Man, I have never been compared to the singer of Journey before, but I will take any compliment I can get :smack: I love those early Aerosmith tracks, they just lock those riffs and beat the hell out of em. ZZ does the same thing as well.

This tune is definately more open then some of my others. I didn;t just want the melody to support lead lines, I got so hooked on the grooves that I decided leaving it buck naked was the way to do it. Gives it a very different feel which is nice for a change of pace.

I was really wanting that 1974 sound on this track. I really wear my influences on my sleeve, for this project it seems to work.

Funk just feels good, it definately puts me in a zone. The beefier the riff the better it seems for me these days. :dance:

Amazing. Great tone, as well as tasteful playing. What kind of mic are you using to mic this stuff? Sounds great! Is it at home or in a studio? Sound proof room?

I hear Beck, Hendrix, Pat Travers, Johnny Winter, Trower all wrapped into one in this track.
This is the kind of music I really enjoy....gettin the funk out....I'm listening to it right now, and I know I'm definitely gonna listen to it again after it's over....which is right now.

Gotta like rockin the socks!! :burnout: I am useing two mics on this, an SM 57 on the cone and a room mic 4 feet back aimed right at the center of the speaker cabinet between all the speakers. I am recording at Jason Keillor's ( phenominal engineer!!) www.prairiedogproductions.org, paradise in the middle of 100 acres of woods. Big ginat room with 27 ft high ceilings, not sound proof it is actually extremely lively and open. Perfect for this type of project. The drums are bigger than life in that room. When you hear a cranked amp in the room it just sends shivers down the spine.

Hey Thanks so much!!

I love it when rock and funk collide, it just feels so good! Thanks for checking out all my tunes, the cd should be done in mid summer, I will definately keep folks posted. I am gonna be real sad when I am done with it, it has filled a great deal of my life and I will miss the creating process greatly.
