rg1570 pups

I have an Ibanez rg1570 with the stock v8/s1/v7 combination. Positions 2 and 4 are just brilliant etc, but either of the pups alone are just somewhat dull, lacking that clarity, edge and dynamics. I want to replace the whole set, and was thinking about CC in the bridge, a Classic Stack in the middle, and aph-1 II in the neck. Body is basswood, maple/walnut neck and rosewood fingerboard. I play blues/rock and progressive rock. The guitar itself is rather bassy. Any ideas?

That set looks good, but I would replace the stack with an APS-2 in the middle. This will give you good notch tones that are still humcancelling in pos 2 & 4. The only position that will not be humcancelling will be pos. 3, which would be the APS-2 by itself.

Re: rg1570 pups

Today I got them and installed right away. I just can't believe this sound is coming from my guitar! The sweetest tone ever. This is just what I wanted. Thanks alot for the help!

Re: rg1570 pups

Hi. can you record it? i have a friend with the same guitar and is very stubborn to "modify" it...if i could change his mind.

thanks!

Re: rg1570 pups

I'll see what I can do about recording it.
It's a 5-piece neck, with two thin plies of walnut inbetween three maple pieces.
