Rising screw poles to reach cover holes height, Help!

Hello!

I put covers on my duncan's last monday and was just wondering if I did something wrong when pushing the pickups into the covers. :smack:
I think there is excessive wax between the top of the bobins and the cover botton (around 2mm, maybe a bit less), so the screw poles became far from the holes. I had to do 3 turns to rise those screws to match the cover surface.
Is this bad or normal?
My pickups are PGP+ and 59'N.
The covers are SD made too.

Thanks!

sounds like you have too much wax in there, it is not normal. i might do it again and see if you can get the cover pretty much flush with the top of the bobbin.

with the screws that high up you will probably be changing the tone. not hurting anything but since one coil will "hear" the string better youll probably get a brighter tone
