i was just checking out his website and was thinking of purchasing a modded ds-1 or mt-2 from him. some pretty big players like satriani and vai have his pedals, but whos had any experience with them? are they worth the upgrade price?

If you don't already have the pedals unmodded, just get the Keeley DS-1 off eBay. Much cheaper. Or get one from John from this board (STRATDELUXER97). His are much cheaper and he ships them faster. They sound great too. Waiting anxiously for mine.

Re: robert keeley pedals

I think John's mod is much more tonally pleasing (At least to me) than Keeley's (no offense to Keeley).

Re: robert keeley pedals

I tried one of the Keeley DS-1, and simply didn't like it...I much prefer the mods that John does to them...plus his prices are better, and he is so fast!

Do a search on the forum, I posted a pretty long review of my DS-1 when I got it...

Re: robert keeley pedals

Keeley's fixed wah pedal is one of the coolest pedals I have heard in a couple years. His George Lynch pedal is pricey but very nice. I don't own any Keeley stuff right now but I do know one thing- he is one of nicest friggin guys I have every talked to EVER. He is extrememly cool and really into the pedal business. I checked out a lot of his stuff at the Dallas Guitar Show and really regret not picking up his last Lynch Time Machine pedal!! I haven't heard any of John's stuff but I need to!! I heard it is fantastic stuff also.

Re: robert keeley pedals

Robert Keeley is a great guy,but my DS1 mods simply sound better than Robert's...Sorry,but that's the facts....LOL

I don't stock DS1s to sell, but you can send me your's for the mods if you like?
