Rocktron Midi-Mate vs. Behringer FCB101

I've narrowed down my search to these two midi controllers based on some suggestions on this forum. The old one I use with my Roland GP-8 has just about had it and I need something to control my Tri-Axis and Roland together. I'd be interested to hear any options for or against these, or even any other suggestions in the $200 or below price range. I'm leaning a bit towards the Rocktron as it has the 7 pin phantom power connector and I'd prefer to not have another power cord if possible. The Behringer has the two expression pedals which I could use with my Tri-Axis and also with my Roland, but they're not a deal breaker for me. So any other opions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Depends on what midi messages you need to send. If all you need are program changes, the midi mate would be fine. But if you need something with CC, note on, etc, the Behringer is really good, especially with the UnO 3rd party firmware out there. I use the Behringer to control my guitar synth/looping rig, but it might be overkill for what you need.

Thanks Mincer. Yeah, I'm probably not going to use too many advanced fucntions. I want it to be able to switch channels on my Tri-Axis in conjunction with switching patches on my Roland. I may also use it to leave the channel on my Tri-Axis alone and just switch the channel on the Roland, although I'm not quite sure how I'd do this. I've love to get something that can also turn my OD pedal off with one button when I hit my clean channel (then back on when I hit my dirty channel, etc.), but I think I'd need something more advanced to do that type of thing and I'm not willing to invest that much money right now.

If that's what you're looking for, I'd suggest the Midi-Mate. The FCB is a bit of a beast if you're going to be taking your rig out much.

Rivera has something called the HeadMaster that may do what you're looking for, and that unit is also very basic.

The behringer midi pedal board is huge. If you don't care about space I would recommend the behringer otherwise avoid it. The Rocktron midimate is a better choice. It's smaller and you can go from instant and controller mode with a push of a button. It looks cooler as well.
I'm a Rocktron patchmate/DMC Ground Control user btw.

I put up with a Ground Control for years, but it was frustrating since it wouldn't send the messages I needed.
