Rode NT-2A opinions...uses...poss sale...

Hey everyone...a couple months ago I was on a bit of a buying spree for studio stuff. I believe I may have got carried away and bought the above mentioned mic too soon. I bought it in addition to an Audix i5 to record my amp and other stuff should I need something different.

I have since come to realize that the learning curve for recording is nearly verticle and I'll be doing good to figure out how to use ONE mic well, let alone two.

So...my question, should I keep it and someday figure out how to use it? Being that right now I'm only micing my amp is there a really good mic technique that I should be exploring with these two mics? If I sold it I would spend the money on improving the sound quality of the room, which I'm thinking would be of more value right now......

Thoughts.?..opinions? ....anyone want a NT2-A?

Personally I'd keep it . . . an NT2A isn't a bad mic at all, and you can always use more mics when you go further into the whole home recording thing . . . if you're not planning on treating your recording room (to control the reverb time) then it'll be hard to use this mic, as it's VERY VERY sensitive. Just wait a while, treat your room, and then you'll like this mic a whole lot more. You can get some really nice acoustic guitar recordings with it . . . and it does an OK job for drum overheads.

One vote to keep it.

Thanks GuitarStv,
Yeah my next move is treating my room one way or the other, I used to agonize over pickups...strings....amps...etc until I realized that if your room sucks, then there's no point in buying equipment until you fix your room. It will all sound bad.

Anyone else?
