Roland amps and their powerful bass sound

I got a Roland amp for Christmas, and it seems to have a really powerful bass to it. It sounds fine, its just hard to get a good balanced tone. I either have too much bass or not enough.

I was just wondering if that's just the way the amps were made, or if mine is just different.

Which Roland amp. I play an older 80's GA-120, which is very clean and very flat response. I also have a Cube 30 which does push out some nice bass. But you can cut bass if you want on the eq. Maybe you got a Bass Amp for christmas? What guitar?

Its a Cube-15 and my guitar is an epiphone, but ive played it through many different amps, and this one is the only one that goes super bass

Re: Roland amps and their powerful bass sound

I think its the closed back cabinet that's adding that bass. I suppose that bass is generally so poor in small amps, that they (roland) might have voiced in some extra. I can't ever get enough of bass, so the more it makes the snare drum rattle the better for me. Can't you dial it out on the EQ? If you use headphones, is it still super bass? Maybe there's a problem with the amp, but I suspect that it's just the virtue of the amp... Bass is nice! Not muffled bass, but tight and room rumbling yummy. Does it have the bassiness on all the amp models?

Can you take the back cover off the amp?

I do dial it down, but i have to mess with it so much to get the best sound out of it.

Oh well, as long as i know my amp isnt weird

I own both a Microcube and a Cube 60. The 60 is voiced about right, but I can't believe the amount of bottom end I get out of the little tiny microcube. All other practice amps tend to sound their size, but this thing sound huge!
