Rondo Music?

Frito's Better Half
Anyone purchase one of their Fender style guitars anytime recently? I had an SX tele years ago, and had no qualms about it. I just want to verify that the quality has remained on par.

Just bought their alder SX 'strat' to go with my SX P-90 'strat. The P-90 needed lots of fret dressing, the 'strat' needed nothing but a set up. I put some Rose pickups in it and it's very nice.

Thanks,

Larry

Re: Rondo Music?

Well, it's not a Strat but it is a Rondo... I personally bought THIS

this summer, and it's GREAT. It was cheaper than the somewhat similar Ibanez's I've handled locally, the neck is fatter too and fairly lightweight. A buddy has a SX Strat (one of those "Hawk" ones with the wide neck) and it's WAAAAY nicer than a sub-$200 Strat copy deserves to be. I'm sure he'll end up modding it, but I would un-hesitatingly buy one. Unless you're really worried about resale value...

Yeah, the Agile stuff is great quality. I wanted to verify that their budget items had still retained their standards.

Re: Rondo Music?

I almost bought a rondo seven string LP, but then they stopped selling it and I got my Epi.

I've played Agiles that blew me away, and I've played a couple that were just okay. Build quality was always great, but sound was another issue. I'm sure a pickup swap would fix some issues.

Just like any other company, there are good and bad guitars among them all. You just have to be willing to try to find a gem.

Re: Rondo Music?

I had no complaints about my Agile 2500 GoldTop some years ago, other than the lack of a Floyd and only having 22 frets, but that's typical for LP shapes I guess. New pickups woulda been nice, but I didn't keep it long. Sold my USA LP Standard shortly thereafter and bought more Jacksons :D

Re: Rondo Music?

I had an Agile TC-1000 a few years back and it was built very well and had great tone! I did switch the pickups pretty quickly, as well as the hardware [to black], but once I got the right set of pickups in the tone was fantastic. I wouldn't mind having another, but owning some top tier Yamaha guitars, a new level of quality and tone have to be met and that TC-1000 just wasn't there by comparison.

Some really good guitars, but there are better option [in my opinion]. I liked my TC-1000 feel and tone more than a MIM Tele, but not quite as much as a MIA Tele Standard.
