Rosewood Neck on

Re: Rosewood Neck on

Depends on the pickups and hardware and everything else. But I reccomend pau ferro. It sounds like maple, but is smooth like ebony and requires no finish. I have a pau ferro neck and board on a mahogany USAC strat body, and they balance together perfectly.

I just looked at USACG web site and it looked they just offer pau ferro for fingerboards now. Do you know if they still make necks out of just pau ferro and do you mind if I ask how much your neck cost?

I am pretty positive they will make you one, they just don't list the price on the website with the more standard stuff. As for the price, I don't really remember to be honest with you. It was several years ago. I think it was around $250 back then, but unfortunately they have gone up in price on their necks so I don't really know how much it would be now. I do know this though. If price were not issue, like that is ever the case:), USAC necks are the absolute best you can buy imo. The frets and the slightly rolled fretboard edges just feel perfect. I can't speak too highly of them.
