rotary selector switches for strats

Hey,

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells a rotary selector switch that I could fit to a strat? I think PRS guitars have something similar. I'm getting tired of knocking the 5-way switch it has with my strumming hand and was gonna replace one of the tone controls, but I can't seem to find anywhere that sells them.

Cheers

the colonel.

So does www.newark.com look under switches, Electroswitch is the manufacturer, then look under rotary switches non-shorting. But you'll have to cut the shaft down and use a barrel knob with them though. You can still get the old style PRS switches from them as well, as they are made for the split shaft knobs.

Wonderful. Has anyone ever fitted one of these to a strat (or any other three-single-coil guitar)? Some schematics would be helpful, as well as some ideas as to what to do with the 6th position?...

Gracias

I installed a PSA-222 (I think that's the correct old number) in one, that was a two section (4P6T set for 5 throws) model of the model I referred too. I had to ream the mounting hole out for it. All of the part catalogues list the various switch dimensions, just take some measurements to see if you'll have room. That's the only one I put in a Strat style, never tried the three section.
