Rotating Pick

I like to use Dunlap USA Nylon picks in .6mm and .46mm. Problem I was experiencing was the picks would roll in my fingers while playing, and the point would angle further back towards the bridge. This was happening with ALL styles of picks I've tried out.........until I found a partial/temp solution.

Velcro!

I like to have picks attached to my guitar rather that wedging them through the strings, and I have no pick-guards to stick them under. Sure I have the obligatory drink glass full of picks, but that may be on the other side of the house from where I am with a guitar............:D

So I put some fuzzy Velcro around the bottom of the front pickup, cut to match the curve of the under-cutout, and a small strip of the hook side on the picks, hold it with the strip under the thumb and............no more rotating in my fingers, nice!

Re: Rotating Pick

I used to drill 3 small holes through my picks right where i grip them, that worked really well ... in fact i think i'm going to have to go back to doing that.

Yup. One hole just doesn't cut it. Dam pick spins around even easier. Tried it.

Re: Rotating Pick

the solution is dunlop tortex picks and a good grip :P this used to happen to me often when i used nylon picks.. then i discovered tortex and i cant use any other pick than those now... i still have the stack of old brand new nylons in a bag somewhere that i never used and probably never will lol

Re: Rotating Pick

i remember having this problem when i was starting out to play electric. It went away fairly quickly though. I use Dunlop Jazz IIIs. I think the reason I had that problem is because i was picking too hard. I am very light with the pick now. The only string i would break is a high E, and probably only on an overbend.
