Rounting an HSS string into HSH as a DIY home project?

I am most likely gonna get me a Dremel 3000 and the 565 cutting kit this month so I was planning in advance how to use it for some DIY projects. I have a MIM Strat which is routed HSS and I also have a JB and a Jazz neck in the locker not being used for a while and I was thinking... how hard can it be to turn it into an HSH here at home?

So what do you think? Is this an easy job to do at home or should I take the guitar to a luthier?

Not sure about dremel bits being solid enough to rout large amounts of wood.......but maybe go slowly and cut passes of not much depth. If there is one that cuts the same size as the shaft then you can run it along a board (or even run the dremel base along the board) and cut a straight line.
That part is always the trickiest

As long as you watch some videos, go slow, and practice a lot first, I think it could be done. I wouldn't do it, but I don't trust my (lack of) woodworking skill.

Unless you really want all that trouble, you could buy a Cool Rails, which is somewhere in the ballbark of what the Jazz can do.

It is actually closest to a Jazz humbucker in a single coil size.

I wouldn't recommend doing it, especially with a Dremel. I would do as suggested...just buy a Cool Rails for Strat pup.

But if you are bound and determined to try, at least make yourself a template first, don't try to free-hand it (unless you purposely WANT to destroy your guitar).

Thanks, I was checking the sound demos of the Cool Rails and it really sounds very nice specially under high gain.

The Cool Rails sounds similar to the Jazz humbucker.
