Routing Tools

What tool/tools do you need to route a guitar body? My friend is letting me hack up his Squire. I've been using a chisel and mallet, but I was wondering if there was a power tool out there that's more suitable.

If you want to do this kind of stuff, I would highly recomend a plunge router and some laminate trim bits and a 1/4 inch straight bit.
