Stick em in a guitar and play them.
I have a couple sets of gold foils (not the moustache type) and they sound very cool, bright and airy, clean at lower volume settings, but distort easily at higher settings...very old school 60's tone. They are a unique sound.

Did they all come stock with a brass screw under the E string?
They are worth what someone is willing to pay at the moment you decide to sell, otherwise, look at past successful sales, set your price, and just wait.

Was the brass screw supposed to compensate for something? E.g. are foil pickups too weak or too strong on the bass side or something? I’m not sure what brass would do to the sound vs the original (whatever they are made of)
