RP1000 + SD Distortion.

Hi everyone,
does anyone have an RP1000 + SD Distortion? I´m having a lot of noise issues when using the RP1000 whit the four cable method, not sure how to translate but is feedback noise like when you place your guitar at the amp speakers. at first I thought I had the AMP volume, gain and pedal overall volume to high, but nope I turn them down to 60% and still get a lot of noise, this is probably a stupid question but its driving me nuts and so far cant fix it. if anyone has a suggestion is much appreciated. :?:

Re: RP1000 + SD Distortion.

How are you amplifying the RP ? If through a guitar amp what amp is it ? Are you using amp gain in conjunction with high gain sounds from the RP ? Have you tried another guitar with a pickup that has as much output as the Distortion ? More info required but it sounds like too much gain to me.

Thank you Richard for your response. I´m using an Ibanez Premium RG927QM whit the SD Distortion whit an Create GLX 212 transistor amp (120 w), I also tried on a RG7420 whit IBZ/DiMarzio pickups, same result on both of them. I also thought I was using too much gain, whit the RP1000 4 cable method I´m using the clean channel so no gain from the amp and the vol is controlled thru the RP1000, I turned down to 50% the amp simulator gain and the general volume to 50% and still I get a nasty feed back, cant turn it down more because the sound will be to clean for my stile of music.

Re: RP1000 + SD Distortion.

Are you disabling the internal cab emulator?.

Thank you for replying Dominus. Nope I´m not disabling it, may that be it? I´m using the 5150 amp simulator usually whit the METL 4x14 cab, I also tried using Direct but I still get feedback noise, this only happens whit the 4 cable method if I use it whit one cable from the RP1000 to the amp I have no feedback issues.

Re: RP1000 + SD Distortion.

Apart from disabling the cab emulator you could trying setting the RP gain to where you need it, turn the RP volume down to nothing, crank your amp up a bit and raise the RP volume gradually. Cranking the volume of something in the loop raises the overall volume of the amp a helluva lot more than putting it through the front.

You are right! I haven't try it in that way, I'll give it a shot on the next rehearsal. Thank you Sir.
