RTM vs Custom Custom

What is the difference? It seems like the RTM would have slightly more output but what about the frequency response? I like the CC but in some guitars it doesn't have enough highs. Conversely, I like the JB but too much highs in some guitars. Is the RTM the answer? Right now I am working on a PRS SE CU24 and am thinking SNS in the neck and maybe an RTM in the bridge. The guitar is beefy but a little bright and will be used for classic rock tones mostly. Thanks!

Yes, the RTM is basically a JB with an A2 magnet, and possibly some custom shop tweaks. Supposedly a JB with an A2 is also Seymour's favorite pickup.

Yes, I know the cannons are being loaded after my first statement.

I have a JB/A2 and if the RTM is that, it would be an awesome rock/metal pickup with just a volume, no tone; or even just straight to the jack. My JB/A2 is like a really loud Whole Lotta Humbucker.

Well do you have a Rattus, or are you just making that up? lol

I haven’t used the CC in ages so I can’t compare but today I was playing my Charvel w/RTM in the bridge thru my Splawn SS and it’s got plenty of highs and bite . Great pickup for hard rock

^ What does the rattus sound like? Does it sound like a pup you've used before?

Kinda sounds like a JB that's a little more tolerable and I say that cause a stock JB to my ears has always been a little unpleasant in the highs and compressed , but my favorite players made it work lol . The RTM takes care of those issues to my ears. But if going the custom shop route is not doable a JB with a rough cast A5 is in same ballpark . YMMV

Edit-It looks like the RTM is a regular production pickup now
