Rusted Saddle Adjustment Screw

I recently bought a used Ibanez RG7621 and the only problem with it is one of the height adjustment screws on the low B string saddle is rusted and won't budge. I have a piece of pick underneath the saddle right now so it is the correct height and works fine, but I want to know if anyone knows how to get that screw out of there without ruining the saddle?

Re: Rusted Saddle Adjustment Screw

Have you tried a lube of sort? Machine oil or something to that nature, I'm sure it won't ruin the saddle. Maybe just buy another saddle.

I tried WD40. This thing may be a lost cause. It has rust inside the hole so I can't get the hex wrench inside to turn it.

Follow the wisdom of Dan Erlewine. Remove the saddle and soak it in Naptha (a.k.a lighter fluid) before trying to back that screw out. Make sure you have the right-sized wrench for it.

Thanks Rich, that is worth a try.
