Rusting JB screws...

I bought a Hamer that was in bad shape. I just needed the neck and body so I threw all the rest in a bag. I just finished restoring the Hamer and I am very happy.

I was about to throw away the bag of junk when I noticed the back side of one of the pups. Yup, it was an old Seymour Duncan JB. The rest of the stuff was junk...really so I did not even bother to look closely.

Now that I found my little treasure the JB has rusted screws. The poles are good but the screws are rusted. Can I replace the screws without damaging the pup? Where would I get the screws if I could?

I want to use the pup in my next project so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

dk

Re: Rusting JB screws...

You could try a product called 'Rid Rust' (if it's still available, haven't seen it for a while)...won't make 'em shiny again, but will take the crud off...
Use it sparingly, though - I wouldn't spray it directly on the pickup; put some on a cloth and try polishing the screws that way...
