Hey guys,
I've been on a tone quest lately and since redoing my pedal board, getting a new reverb pedal and now wanting to go deep in the waters and try out the 500 series Boss pedals. From what learned so far is that these are the best overall sounding Boss pedals of their kind. I know no idea is that is remotely close to being true or not.
I'd like to hear from those who own them and have opinons on how good or bad they are. Are they worth the extra money? I see Midi control and that could really get interesting with the ES-8. I can see them helping me form my ultimate pedal board with total control.

If you’ve got the coin and like the Boss style effects, these three with your ES-8 and drives would be an ultimately versatile and killer board.

I wonder if they will ever put them all in one box? My guess is that getting all 3 might approach the cost of some high end multi-fx, so it might be worth figuring out what else is in that price range.

I go round and round with this line of thinking. It's the whole reason why I keep jumping between pedals and processors. Pedals always sound better and processors are much much cheaper but you give up sound quality. So in the end it's all about what matter to you, money or sound quality.
The Boss GT-1000 is coming out any time now and I gotta go check that out. It's has the 32 bit 192hz processor in it so I'm hoping it's a huge leap forward over the Boss GT-100 which I sold to go back to pedals.
