RWRP Question

Hello,
Quick question, if one pickup is standard and the other is RWRP, I know if they are in parallel they are hum cancelling, is the same true if they are in series?
And as a follow-on question, how does the sound of two P90s in parallel compare to two in series?

Thanks,
Bill

If you're talking humbuckers, using a Triple Shot ring allows you to have the hum-cancelling effect putting both coils of the same p'up in parallel.

If you're talking single coils, with a RWRP middle p'up, the hum-cancelling positions 2 and 4 are in-series.

Re: RWRP Question

The P-90s will be hum cancelling, but they will sound very thick and heavy in series. In parallel the two P-90s will sound much lighter, treblier, thinner.

Re: RWRP Question

Series P90s is sort of a strange, thick sound. I suppose it might be good for some things, but most people would think that there is no articulation there, no attack on the notes. In fact, it would be difficult to tell you are listening to P90s, as that bark is really gone when you run them in series.
