s-1 HSS strat pup recommendations?

I play most classic rock and blues (a little bit of heavier stuff). The stock pups sound a bit thin and lifeless. I've been thinking about a JB in the bridge and Quarter pounders in the neck and middle. I'm worried the s-1 series settings would end up muddy and useless. Anyone care to share their opinions or recommendations? Thanks

Actually, that is an interesting combo that will certainly get you from blues to hard rock. You could use the S1 to split the JB instead of series, though- I always thought series was way to muddy even with the clearest single coils.

Thanks dude. What I'm think of doin is setting up a new pick guard (wanted to change the color anyway) with new pots and wiring (without the s1 switching) and keeping the original pick guard-pups, s1 and all in case I ever wanna sell the guitar or put it back stock. Might still use s1 type pots for tapping the neck and middle p'ups and splitting the JB. Thanks

I think using the S-1 to tap the Quarter Pounders and split the JB is a fantastic idea. Almost like having two completely different guitars available with the push of the S-1 button.
