S D 84-40

I have an 84-40 amp that I love. she started having problems (volume up/down and some unwanted distortion) I looked in back and the 12ax7 on the end close to speaker was dim and went out. I changed it, after coming on and working for about a minute it blows the main fuse. I am knowledgeable on electronic circuits and can check with my meter if I get in the area. I also have the manual with schematic. Any advice would be appreciated.

To go any further, you are going to have to pull the chassis...and check a few things.
You will need a spare/new fuse(s) obviously.
