Saddles on my Hamer SATF buzzzzz

Hopefully someone can help me out with this...
I have a (Korean import) Hamer SATF archtop. It has a Gibson-style bridge and tailpiece (although they are cheap Korean versions). I get a very noticable buzzing from the saddles (it appears to be the saddles, anyhow), especially noticeable when I'm not plugged in... any suggestions?

Take some fine grit sandpaper and rub it in the slot a little bit. It should remove any burs that were left in there.

By the way, with these cheapo Korean tuneomatics, does it make sense to replace them with something of higher quality?

I had tried the light sanding approach and that didn't fix the problem. A guy in a local guitar shop showed me a few days ago that there is a retainer wire (which I hadn't noticed before) on the tuneomatic bridge. That appears to be the buzzing culprit. It's physically attached to the bridge, though, and doesn't just come off like the guitar shop guy suggested. Any ideas on how to fix this incredibly annoying buzzing retainer wire?

If you like the way the guitar feels, plays and sounds, then yes, I think it makes sense. You can get the Allparts version of the ABR-1 for under $30 if memory serves, or the tonepro's locking for a little more.

My understanding is that Hamer uses standard Gibson specs for their hardware. I have a Hamer SATF, but have never tried to replace the bridge with one from my Gibsons.

So my response is, I believe so, but am not 100% sure. I know that they make a standard replacement and a metric replacement. Anyplace you order from should be able to tell you. John at Black Rose Customs is an Allparts dealer, if you order from him he can tell you for sure.
