Samson Airline Wireless Guitar System

Has anyone ever used one? Our Bass played has one and swears by it, but I was wondering if anyone of you guys/gals have had any experience with them. At $300, they are a bit pricey, but I like the fact that they integrate well within a pedalboard. Since I play through a combo, I don't want to have to lug a rack or other excess gadget around.

Re: Samson Airline Wireless Guitar System

i have the samson airline i use now and again along with a sennhiser i am selling...

(insert cheap plug here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3781196570&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT )

anyway i used to use the samson all the time at rehersal in the studio and it's odd, some days it would be fine and i would think i was plugged in to a cable other days it just seems to suck the low end out of the guitar a bit...not a huge change but enough for me to need to turn the bass up a notch or two. i'm super picky about my sound though and like a lot of low end (high gain player) so it may have just been me on those days...or the studios amp that gets the crap kicked out of it day in and day out, it may have just had a hard day lol. Also if you want to use it live...forget it...if a cell phone rings or there is a TV around (mostly cells...nextel is the worst) it makes a ton of popping/clicking noises through the amp...i thought at first it was my unit so i got a new one and it does the same thing. i still own it and use it now and again but if your going to spend $300 not to plug my own stuff but buy my sennhiser (and save some cash) it blows it away for sure, although it is a larger unit it's also a much better one. on the other hand my old bassist used an AKG guitar bug that seemed to work a bit better than the samson IMO far less times did it pop or crackle when a cell phone rang...however i never tried it in my guitar though.
