santana sound

hi, I own a Samick Les Paul Artist Edition and I would like to change my pickups , the original ones aren´t very good. I´d like to know what pickups í could install to "get" Santana´s sound (or approach to it). If i could, would i be able to play also rock & roll and blues?

Carlos' sound comes from being Carlos.

But vintage style paf humbuckers are what you want: Seth Lovers or Antiquitys....and a Boogie MK-1 amp.

But you still won't sound like Carlos because his tone is from somewhere deep within.

I saw a thing on Carlos not long ago. He talked about talking to Metatron, the head of all angels. It thought it took a lot of cajones to get on TV and talk that deeply about his spirituality. I think Lew's right. It comes from deep within. But, I can get somewhere in the neighborhood with my LP using the APII neck pickup.
