Sanyo Pedal Juice

Does anybody have any experience with these?

Seems like a good idea IMO, no ground loops, plus less cables on stage.

Although, I do realize that the Voodoo Labs Power Plus 2 is the king of power supplies, I don't have anything other than 9v negative tip pedals.

I was hoping to find one used, as the price is similar to the Voodoo Labs.

Re: Sanyo Pedal Juice

I think they're a fairly new product so it might be hard to find on the used market.

Eric Johnson only uses heavy Duty standard composition 3/4 dischaged ray-O-Vacs. Anything else..*especially Lithium Ion, robs tone.

All hail Eric Johnson, for making us believe in myths and legends for better tone with no evidence to back any of it up.

HE can hear it, WE cannot.

While it's generally accepted that the voltage sag in zinc/carbon batteries adds some compression to dirt boxes, some of this stuff goes off towards fetishism.

What he said. EJ also holds his stompboxes shut with rubber bands because screwing them shut affects tone. Where does this OCD-level attention to detail end up?

Sanyo. I remember the name from bottom-feeder consumer electronics when I was a teenager. Am I right in thinking they're new to the world of products for guitarists? Because their cosmetics on this thing couldn't be more out of place. Any idea what how that glossy finish would look after six months in a guitarist's rig? It's a power supply for pedals, not a digital camera, a phone, a portable hard drive, an MP3 player, et al.

Re: Sanyo Pedal Juice

A trusted local guitar tech has experience with one, he told me it's a very nice piece of equipment. What kind of bothers me is that you need to charge it... call me crazy but I like to plug my pedals into the wall. while i suppose there is still some remote risk of them losing power or malfunctioning, it makes me feel a bit safer during a rig.
